Dealing with Erectile Dysfunction, The Statistics:

  • 30 MILLION MEN in the United States are affected with some level of erectile dysfunction
  • 26% of those men are under the age of 40!
  • Erectile Dysfunction will impact 10% of men per decade of life, meaning 40% of men in their 40’s, 50% of men in their 50’s, 60% of men in their 60’s… etc.
  • 1 in 10 men will experience erectile dysfunction at some point in their life.

My point here is, YOU ARE NOT ALONE in dealing with erectile dysfunction!

Society doesn’t help us open up a space to talk about this issue – and “Low T Centers” are just squeezing our vulnerabilities to the surface. We can help men without reinforcing shame.

As a sexual health professional, I am privileged to hear a wide variety of men’s sexual experiences. Men express their fears, curiosities, and their traumas. Men express their desires and struggles – and how they show up win their sexual relationships. Every man believes their sexual worries are isolated to them. They believe it is somehow abnormal, or it a reveals a personal flaw.

Dealing with Erectile Dysfunction, The Facts:

FACT: all men will have sexual body changes throughout life.

FACT: the quality of an erection does not define the value of a man.

Men feel more empowered to have sexual health conversations when they have access to information, receive solution-focused recommendations, and have the tools to navigate these bodily changes feeling better.

Often, men do not correlate a healthy brain and body to their ability to achieve great erections. Sexual response begins with he stimulation of the brain through a variety of human senses. That stimulation may be visual, a smell, taste, memory, fantasy, touch, sound, or a combination of whatever floats your boat. This initial brain trigger sets in motion a cascade of responses in the body using nerve signals, the release of chemicals and the dilation of blood vessels.

It turns out getting hard is actually a series of intricate steps.
